Solar cells harness the sun's power so that it can be turned into electricity. Both businesses and consumers utilize solar cells. As going green becomes more popular and more profitable more and more companies are developing solar cell technology.

For example, DayStar Technologies produces energy storing devices called CIGS cells. These cells will be cheaper to make than conventional solar cells. Conventional cells are made of polycrystalline and dominate the market.

As solar cells’ technologies become more cutting edge competition increases. DayStar's top competitors include First Solar and SolarWorld. However, it also has at least 10 other competitors Including Sharp Electronics and Honda.
